Match Review – Blackburn Rovers vs Charlton Athletic (1-2)

Blackburn Rovers opened up the 2019/20 Championship season with 1-2 defeat to Charlton Athletic at Ewood Park.

A goal in the first half by Ben Purrington gave the Addicks the lead, before debutant Bradley Johnson leveled in the 2nd half. A late scramble by Charlton saw them win the match thanks to goal machine Lyle Taylor.

Terrible start to the season for Rovers, as we follow with tradition and not win on opening day. Things don’t look much better on the horizon as Rovers travel to London next week to take on Fulham at Craven Cottage.

In this video we hear from the Gaffa Tony Mowbray with his reaction, plus the fans get their say with Lewis Stubbs celebrating Charlton’s victory and we also hear the wise words of Ian Herbert.
